V.Raghavendran has his training in Carnatic Music – Vocal from Shri. Udupi Gopalakrishnan (Disciple of Renowned Carnatic Stalwarts –Alathoor Brothers and Ayaloor Krishnan). He inculcated him a passion for Classical music. This training is helping him in gaining a strong foundation and He is also extremely fortunate in getting guidance from “Sangeetha Vidyanidhi” Vidwan Dr. Shri. Vidyabhushana, Bangalore who is renowned for excellent singing of Dasarapadas and Ugabhogas. This is immensely helping him to give vocal concerts.

 

He has given so far 33 Carnatic vocal concerts at Chennai, Bangalore, Udupi , Coimbatore and Dharmapuri, Salem, Hosur, Papparapatti (Tamilnadu) Mulbagal and Raichur (Karnataka). He has given his 9th concert at Tirumala Tirupathi Devasthanam’s Information Centre [“Shravanam”] in T.Nagar Chennai on 6th December 2006 in the presence of famous Cine Playback singer Smt.S.Janaki.

 

Has received "Indian Achievers Award" from Indian Achievers Forum in December 2021.

Has received “Basavanagudi Vipra Ratna Award” from Basavanagudi Brahmana Maha Sabha on 17th Jan 2021.

 

Has received “Kalavid International Award” from World Constitution and Parliament Association [WCPA] based in USA.

​

Has received Madhava Peddi Memorial Award from Siva Foundation Chennai on 27th September 2009.The Award was given by Sri K.Balachandar [Film Director] and Sri K.Viswanath [Film Director] in the presence of singers Sri.S.P.Balasubrahmanyam and Smt.Vani Jairam.

 

Famous singer Sri.S.P.Balasubrahmanyam gave a special chance to sing in his popular TV show “Ennodu Paatu Paadungal” finals held at Music Academy on 14th October 2007.

 

Has received “Award for Achievement” from Subhasheela Academy of Fine Arts Chennai on 20th July 2007.

He was also conferred “Dhruva Award” on 10th June 2006, by His Holiness Shri.Vignananidhi Tirtha Swamiji, pontiff of Shri.Sripadaraja Math, Mulbagal for rendering carnatic music concerts, by traveling to various places despite his physical disability.

 

He has won prizes in carnatic music competition and light music competition held in his school while studying as well as in competitions conducted by Cultural and Religious Organisations in Tamilnadu and in Karnataka.

His maiden Carnatic Vocal Concert performance in Bangalore on August 29, 2004 has received review from eminent music critic Mysore V.Subramanya, Bangalore which appeared in English Daily- “Deccan Herald” and also in Kannada daily “Prajavani” and “Vijaya Karnataka”.
